Why Companies Are Investing in SEO During the Economic Downturn

There’s no two ways about it - SEO is hot again. In the last 6 weeks, SEOmoz has received a higher than normal volume of requests for consulting. Alongside that, we’ve been getting calls from venture capital firms out of the blue - seven to date - asking either about investments they’re considering in the SEO sphere (and requesting insight) or literally asking whether SEOmoz would like to take more capital to grow (post about that coming soon).

SEO Dark Lord - 94%

Are you an SEO Expert?

OK I took the SEOmoz SEO Expert Quizz tonight and did pretty well with a wopping 94%. I’m not sure if that qualifies me as an expert but I was pretty happy with the result. The thing I’ve found after over 9 years of working in SEO is that it’s about actually following the fundamental rules of optimisation in order to get your sites and your clients ranked well. The SEOmoz Quiz is designed to test your mettle with 75 action-packed questions covering all corners of the SEO universe from beginner knowledge, to sneaky tricks only true Dark Lords of the SERPs will know. I did this test in about 20 minutes and promise I didn’t cheat.

Page One Rankings - Guaranteed! Prove it.

logo.gifWe’ve gone out on a limb here with the launch of our latest product which is called PageOneRankings.com.au. Exactly like the name says we’re offering Guaranteed Page One Rankings on Google, Yahoo and MSN. We’re only offering this service for clients in Australia at present and the guarantee is to rank sites on the Australian versions of those search engines.

Having said that we will be offering this service internationally later this year as we do have Page One Rankings worldwide on several of our own sites for some extremely competitive keywords such as ‘Psychic’ and ‘Visas Australia’
