Not a good week here in Phils

funeral1.jpgGot back last week from Oz on a perfect holiday (and some family, work, other matters) into a supertyphoon here in the Philipines. Things here are a little crazy and very sad. This beautiful country continues to be plagued by seemingly endless bad things.

Typhoon Parma, churned toward the country just a week after tropical storm Ketsana triggered the worst flooding in 40 years in and around Manila, leaving 300+ people dead.

This woman cries beside the coffin of her son who died during the flooding Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 in suburban Quezon City, Manila.

SEO conference in Boracay, Philippines? You’ve gotta be kidding!

OK I know this doesn’t look like an SEO conference but it was!! We had our gun SEO team fly in to Boracay from around the Philippines and the partners from Australia, Japan, England and China for a week of serious strategy and fun. Why pay for an expensive conference centre in a big smoking city when you can get out there in nature with WIMAX, relax and also work? Yesterday we were literally in a river spa with the waterproof ToughBook discussing a new High Value Linking Strategy we’ve been working on for a year which is now at fruition. Business should be fun and healthy…………..

Global Knowledge Event In Kuala Lumpur A BIG Success!!

gk3_social_outsourcing_19.jpgKuala Lumpur, 14 December 2007: Well we’ve just wrapped up 5 days of non-stop activities at one of the world’s largest ICT 4 development conferences here in KL, Malaysia. It’s been a whirlwind of a week.

This was the 3rd Global Knowledge Conference I’ve been to over the last 5 years and probably the best in terms of outcomes as we raised over USD$400,000 for our Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative www.YSEI.org

The Global Knowledge Partnership’s Event on the Future, the Third Global Knowledge Conference (GK3), was opened on the 11th of December in Kuala Lumpur by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, and addressed the challenges of sustainable and equitable development through Knowledge and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Plus it’s got a lot of other stuff which is going to help you learn how to do what I do. Which is basically travel the world and earn a living online.
